If you are ready to choose adoption for your child, we will help you create an individualized adoption plan that is right for you. We believe every mother and father is unique and your needs may be different than other expectant parents.
The first step is to text us at 1-877-202-9624 or call us at (800) GO-ADOPT, any time of the day or night, to speak with an experienced adoption caseworker. We’ll set up a time to meet; we want to get to know you personally. You will complete background information and some legal forms so we can learn more about you and what you are looking for in a family for your child. If you haven’t been to the doctor yet, we can help you identify a medical provider in your area.
We will provide you with family profiles based on your stated preferences. Once you select an adoptive family, we’ll set up a meeting (in person or on the phone) for you to get to know each other better. If you choose to not meet the family, that is also fine. You will tell us how much or how little contact you would like with the adoptive family during and after the adoption.
Expectant mothers choosing adoption have other things to consider besides their labor and birth experience. You’ll decide if the adoptive family will be present for the birth and how much time you want to spend with your child and how much time you’d like the adoptive family to spend with you and the baby. You will also choose who will be present when you sign a consent for adoption. Your hospital plan is about you and your child. This is an important and often difficult time, so your experience should be the most positive it can be.
Post-adoption contact can range from picture and letter exchanges to future visitation. Again, you tell us what you want and we’ll make sure we find the perfect family willing to meet your requests. We’ll also be available for support long after the adoption is completed.
